This website enables KS2 children to practice and find out more about; what life was like during the second world war and the countries affected.
Children will be able to look at case studies of evacuees and formulate their own diary/postcard as if they were being evacuated. They can see the countries involved on a world map and identify the areas where children were evacuated from and to within Britain. They can watch videos showing how the lifestyle was different to life now. Pupils using this website will develop a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding British history, establishing clear narratives within and across the periods of WW2. They will learn about a timein British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066. They will also build upon their Literacy skills.
